Hi, friends! I hope you are having a wonderful weekend. Cool weather is finally here, and it is such a welcome change. We were in the 90's yesterday, and in the 40's at the moment. I will get back to my fall decor post, but I had to finish this project. This frame has been sitting in my garage for way too long, and every time I pull in there I keep thinking I have to finish this. Here it is! Finally!
This is the first time that I have ever used three types of paint on one project. The base of the frame is Annie Sloan Chalk Paint in Emperor's Silk Red. I wanted to tone the frame down a little, so I used another favorite, Martha Stewart Metallic Bronze. It blended so well with the red after I applied the dark wax.
.
I also have a new favorite! I absolutely love the Sharpie paint pens. They are so easy to use, and give you great control. I've been amazed how many projects I have completed with one pen. There's a lot more paint in that little pen than you would think. Below is the transformation stages.
Trying to get a decent photo is the reason it has taken me all week to get this posted. Our weather didn't care that I needed some sunlight. So I apologize now that the photos are not the best.
I also had these three small frames that I had been wanting to use with antique skeleton keys. I have a major love for those keys. One of my very first blog post I shared was finding my grandparent's skeleton key to their old farm house. When I found the fabric, I knew exactly what I wanted to do with those frames.
I used the same three paints on these little frames.
I had this jute webbing left over from a chair makeover, and it was perfect to attach the frames. They originally had hooks that connected them.
Thank you so much for stopping by. I love your visits. I will be getting back to more fall decor, but I just had to get this project out of the way. I still have to tackle my fireplace mantel. If you are a new follower, please be sure and leave me a comment. I love to return the follow. :)

Oh, how beautiful!! Thank you for sharing at Sharing Saturday!! Sorry I'm visiting/commenting so late!
I'm a bit late finding this project and so glad to finally come across it. That frame is so incredible, absolutely crave it. Must try to find some french fabric now and a suitable frame to make your project, knowing it won't be as good as yours. It's so hard to find good frames here (Grand Junction, CO area)but just might look at Hobby Lobby sale of their frames to make it. Would be worth it to find a great frame with the carving similar to yours. Love that drum table also, wow are you good girl. It must be wonderful to teach children and see the results you can affect in them.
Great also that your hubby is willing to hunt at sales, it's not knowing what you might find around a corner that keeps a person looking.
I agree about the friends people can make thru the blogs. I'm not a blogger but have "met" such wonderful helpful, generous people. I can't stay away from my machine very long before I wonder what I'm missing. The talent out there is so awe inspiring. I had no idea there were so many people, mostly women of all ages, crafting and re-purposing things galore. It's so wonderful that women are answering that need to create and redo for their families as well as for profit.
Hope your Christmas was great Kathy and your New Year even better.
